Short-form video lives or dies on the first second, and anything cluttered behind you competes with your face for attention. A soft, blurred background does two things: it keeps the viewer looking at you, and it hides a room you would rather not put on camera. Replacing the background with a flat color goes further, giving a series of clips one consistent, branded look. Either way it makes a phone video feel deliberate rather than dashed off.

No green screen required
