Delete your Reelvana data
Last updated: August 24, 2026
Reelvana has no accounts, no email address for you and no password. What we hold is tied to a random anonymous ID the app creates on first launch. This page is how you get rid of it, what goes, and what does not.
1. Delete it yourself, in the app
This is the fastest route and it needs no reply from us.
- Open Reelvana.
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Account, at the top.
- Tap Delete my data.
- Read the summary, then confirm with Delete permanently.
The app deletes the server side first, then clears its own stored copy, and shows you a receipt listing what was removed, item by item. It cannot be undone.
This arrived in the release now rolling out: it is live on Google Play and awaiting review on the App Store. If your copy of the app has not updated yet, the Account screen will not have the button. Use the email route below instead.
2. Or ask us by email
Email [email protected] and ask us to delete your data. You do not need to explain why.
Because there is no account, we cannot look you up by name or email. Include your anonymous user ID so we can find what to delete. You will find it in the app under Settings, then Account, where you can copy it. If you have already uninstalled the app and no longer have the ID, tell us and we will explain what we can and cannot do without it, which is honestly not much, because an ID is the only thing that links any record to you.
3. What gets deleted
Everything below is destroyed outright, not merely hidden:
- Your cloud caption usage history. The per-request records of how many seconds of audio you transcribed.
- Your AI script usage history. The records of your script generations.
- Any error records tied to your ID from a failed transcription or AI request.
- Any quota adjustment set on your account.
- Your invite code and your invite lookup history.
- This device's push notification registration, when the app sends its device ID with the request, which it does when you delete from inside the app.
On the device itself, the app clears its cached account ID, its cached invite code, its stored quota snapshot, its entitlement mirror and its invite flags. Then it signs out of the anonymous identity and signs in to a brand-new one, so nothing written from that point on can be traced back to the account you deleted.
Your videos, projects and scripts stay on the device, and your subscription is not cancelled. Those are your own content and your own purchase. A data-deletion request is not a request to destroy your work or to take away something you paid for.
4. What is kept, and why
We would rather list this than let you discover it later.
- Invites you were part of, kept but unlinked. An invite is a record about two people. Those rows survive with your ID replaced by an unlinkable placeholder, so a friend who earned free Pro days still receives them and invite limits stay correct. The rows no longer identify you.
- Purchase and subscription records at Apple and Google. These are the stores' records, not ours. They are retained for tax, refund and chargeback obligations and cannot be deleted on request. Manage or cancel a subscription in your App Store or Google Play account.
- Your Pro entitlement at RevenueCat. We deliberately leave this alone, because deleting it would revoke Pro you actually paid for. If you want it removed as well, email us and say so.
- Anonymous totals. Aggregate usage and cost counters were never keyed to your ID. There is no row that identifies you, only totals, so there is nothing to delete.
- Short-lived infrastructure logs at our hosting providers, which record a request and an IP for a short time and age out on their own. They are not searchable by account ID.
- A one-line record that a deletion happened. It stores a one-way hash of your ID, never the ID itself, so we can show a deletion was carried out without recreating the very thing you asked us to erase.
One thing that does go away and is worth naming: free Pro days earned from referrals were granted to the ID you are deleting, and they do not carry across to the new one. A subscription you bought does carry across.
5. How long it takes, and how you know it worked
Deletion happens immediately, while you wait. It is not queued and there is no additional retention period on our side: the records listed in section 3 are removed during the request itself.
In the app you get a deletion receipt on screen when it finishes, listing exactly what was removed and what was kept and unlinked. If part of it could not complete, for example the device had no network when the app tried to take its new identity, the app tells you that plainly and finishes the remaining step on the next launch rather than claiming a clean deletion.
By email, we will confirm when it is done. Allow a few days for a reply.
